Is Online Account Opening Safe?
No longer a new technology, online banking tools have become mainstream and user-friendly for customers of all ages. According to a recent .J.D. Power survey, more Americans are trusting online banking tools and engaging in online account opening. In 2019, 22 percent of new account openings took place online. Last year, that number rose to 31 percent.
The normalization of online banking has created established banking tools that are secure and safe for consumers. By choosing a trusted local bank and following basic internet safety protocols, you can open an account online without worry. Keep the following tips in mind when making banking transactions online.
Choose a FDIC Insured Bank
Increased popularity in online banking has given rise to online-only banking institutions. Before choosing a bank that you’ve never heard of before, do your research. Better yet, choose a community bank like CS Bank. We’ve been operating in Northwest Arkansas for more than 100 years and our accounts are FDIC insured for balances up to $250,000.
